Sometimes you'd like to show on screen, only part of your
picture, while hiding other parts.
Other times, a slide style
that you want to use, recommends to crop your pictures.
For example, if you
want to make a perfect cube effect, you'll need first to crop all the facets of the
cube to perfect squares.
Or, if you want to create perfectly round images, your pictures need to be cropped to perfect
squares first.
We can do all this from ProShow:
Cropping a picture in ProShow does not affect your original
picture in any way. It only changes the size and shape of the image that is
being used in your show (non destructive procedure).
How to crop an image to a perfect square
In Edit Slide > SLIDE OPTIONS,
select the layer (the image) that you want to crop.
On the right, you will notice the Editing Tools. Put a check mark on "Crop" and then click on "Edit"
In the new window that opens,
you can select the cropping areas.
Draw a box around the main subject. The light area is what will show up in your slide.
Your selection region can be changed in two ways: you can
change the size, and you can change where the selection is placed on the image.
Click
on any of the anchor points that appear in each of the corners and on all four
sides. These anchor points can be
dragged to adjust the selection region.
When you want to create a perfect square, you need to pay
attention to SIZE. The width and
the height values of the picture, must
be exactly the same. This means that you must enter the same value for both. You can copy and paste the numbers from one value to the other.
After marking the perfect square on your picture, you can change
its location, by dragging the whole
region to a spot where you want it to be. For example, to focus on the head of
the person in the picture, or some other subject.
When you are done, press on OK.
Now your image has the shape of a perfect square, and can be used in your slide style.
How to copy the cropping regions to other identical images (layers)
Many slide style include duplicates of the same image. This means that if you cropped one image, all the other identical images must look exactly the same.
Here is how to copy the cropped values to other identical layers:
Go back to the Adjustment window, and RIGHT click on the Crop button.
This will bring up a new pop-up menu. Choose "Copy Cropping region to Other Layers"
This will bring up a more complex menu. Don't be frightened !!! and don't worry !
It's rather simple !
On the left side of the screen, notice the "From Layer". Producer has already marked the slide and the layer from where to copy settings.
All you need to do is to make changes on the right side of the screen - "To Layers"
So, in To Layers, select your slide again, and click on the + (plus) button to expand the view of all the layers. Produce will open all the layers that are in that slide.
Put a checkmark on all the layers that have the same picture. When you are done press on Copy & Close.
That's it. Now all the duplicated images in your slide are identical in size and shape.
